KYIV, Ukraine —Russian forces occupying the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in southeast Ukraine are getting ready to connect with Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014, and are damaging it by reorienting its electrical energy manufacturing, Ukrainian operator Energoatom warned Tuesday.
It’s the largest nuclear energy plant in Europe and was occupied by Russia early in its invasion. Kyiv and Moscow blamed one another for assaults on the plant final week.
“The Russian army current on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant are implementing this system of (Russian operator) Rosatom aimed toward connecting the plant to the Crimean electrical energy grid,” Energoatom president Petro Kotin advised Ukrainian tv….
